Abstract
The first document (the “Testimony”) contains the text of the testimony Mark St. John made before U. S. Congress Subcommittee On Basic Research on July 23, 1998. The testimony is in response to questions about the current status of the National Science Foundation’s Systemic Initiatives and the potential they have to improve K-12 math and science education. The second document is a memo of follow-up questions from Congress regarding the same subject.
