Abstract
This slide presentation was prepared for the National Writing Project’s Spring Meeting, held in Washington, DC, on March 23-24, 2017. The presentation makes the case for continued federal investment in the improvement of writing through competitive grants, and shows how the NWP has demonstrated its ability to leverage that investment for the benefit of local teachers, districts, and states. The presentation shows that the National Writing Project is an infrastructure that supports teacher leadership, that NWP teacher leaders has been proven to help improve writing instruction in local districts and schools, and that NWP sites in all 50 states are ready to help states implement ESSA.
Intended Audience
