Abstract

This is a slide presentation delivered at the 2018 Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. It situates the NWP as beginning a new phase of evolution in response to changes in federal funding priorities for education. Drawing from research done over 24 years, as well as the author’s 12 years of experience with the NWP, the presentation identifies the many assets the NWP has accumulated over its 44-year history. Current and future NWP leaders at national, regional, state, and local levels can tap these assets to build the NWP of the future.

Intended Audience

The National Writing Project, Federal and state policy makers, Funders, Educators, Teachers, and general public.
